Six Step Trauma Process

IPS Worldwide implements a succinct six-step process for coping with a traumatic or critical situation.

01. Situational Analysis

Risk Assessment. What occurred? Where are you now?

02. Fact Finding

Historical Background. Environment. Access and other constraints.

03. Consultation

Review Options. Propose a range of strategies.

04. Strategy Choice

Assist with deciding which is the best option/strategy in the circumstances.

05. Reporting

If appropriate and with permission -> Who in the Organisation was consulted? Family involvement. Liaison with external agencies.

06. Follow - Up

Within appropriate timeframes and with appropriate people both inside and outside Organisation.
